Facebook is an online social network which connects you with friends and others who work, study and live around you. You can have group discussions, show off your latest photos, share short videos, play games, invite people to your events, set up groups, and many other things too.

What's great about Facebook is that you can choose who can see you and your content, so you can have all the privacy you need whilst being able to communicate with people on the other side of the world, or just the other side of the office!

Join the BIG BIKE RIDE group and let us and other big bike riders know all about your BIG BIKE RIDE antics! See photos and video clips of past and upcoming BIG BIKE RIDEs, leave messages on the group wall, and take part in discussions ranging from fundraising ideas to how to avoid those nasty blisters.

We'll be updating the BIG BIKE RIDE group with new photos and videos but we would love you to share yours too! You can easily do this by uploading your photos and videos to the group.

Setting up a Facebook event provides a way tell all your friends about your bike ride and encourage them to get involved either by joining in on the day or by sponsoring you. Similar to a group you and your friends can leave messages on the wall, post discussion topics and upload photos and videos.

To set up your BIG BIKE RIDE event go to the events application on Facebook, (if you haven't already done so, set up a Facebook account), fill in the event details, and invite your friends. Be sure to set your privacy details according to your preferences. You may not want your event to be able to be publicly viewed.

You can share your photos and videos with us on Facebook really easily. Either upload them to the BIG BIKE RIDE group or to your bike ride event - then please email us the link to event!

Don't worry if you don't feel like using Facebook. You can still organise and promote your event by setting up your event page within the BIG BIKE RIDE website.

Here you can upload all your event details such as time, place and location and then send it to your friends and colleagues to recruit members for your bike ride.
