How does my money help?

What happened to those children who plucked up the courage to call for help, but didn’t get through? This is what everyone at the NSPCC dreads. Sadly a third of children calling ChildLine can’t get through to talk to someone.

With your help, we want to transform ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline to answer many more children’s cries for help. Through the Child’s Voice Appeal we can transform ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline so that whether they call, email, text or contact us online, a child needing our help will have someone to turn to.

Please remember that every £100 you raise through the BIG BIKE RIDE can enable our counsellors to speak to an extra 25 children through ChildLine, giving those desperate children a vital lifeline.

£180 could pay a trained practitioner to deliver a day of support through the NSPCC Helpline, to protect the most vulnerable children in society such as babies and toddlers who cannot call for themselves.

£300 could answer 75 calls to ChildLine, at least 15 of which are likely to be children phoning because they are worried about being physically or sexually abused.

£420 could pay a year's freephone call costs for one volunteer counsellor so that children can continue to access ChildLine for free

.

£864 could pay for a night-shift worker for one week so that we can support the vulnerable children who phone ChildLine, often in desperate situations, in the middle of the night.
